Students are given a planner to keep track of daily assignments. Students are required to take their planners to class daily. Parents should check planners periodically to be sure that students are recording homework assignments, including writing "no homework" if they finished an assignment. This task helps students to develop necessary organizational skills. Assignments are posted daily on the white board in my classroom. Current homework assignments can also be found in Schoology under Math - Mrs. Sullivan 2018-2019.
Along with their planner, students are required to bring their Go Math workbook, math folder, composition book, Chromebook, pencils and eraser, loose leaf paper and calculator (once distributed) to class each day. Students will use their composition book to record vocabulary terms, notes and examples/models of sample problems. Students will be aware of the content that will be on quizzes and tests. *Calculators will not be distributed until the second nine weeks.
The following is a list of possible activities that will occur in my math class: Bell work, review homework assignments, complete new assignments, take notes, work in groups or with a partner, work independently, demonstrate work at white boards, use individualized white boards, complete computerized assignments, take quizzes and tests, correct assignments, begin homework assignments. As you can see math is a busy class and we accomplish much learning!! Please encourage your child to also ask questions if they do not understand something!
